Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by high blood sugar levels that result from insulin secretion, or its action, or both. Was first identified with “sweet urine” and excessive muscle loss. Patients with diabetes, have an absence of insufficient production or lack of response to insulin which causes hyperglycemia.
When a person intakes food, it is broken down into a sugar called glucose. Glucose gives your body the energy it needs to work, but to use glucose as energy, your body needs insulin. People with type 2 diabetes, make insulin but either their pancreas does not make enough insulin or the body cannot use the insulin well enough. When this occurs it is called insulin resistance. With Type 2 Diabetes the need for insulin can be eliminated in most cases with proper nutrition and the guidance of a qualified physician that knows what they are doing. At Quality Health Care we have reversed this disease in countless numbers of our patients who now live healthy, active lives without any of the debilitating symptoms of diabetes. If not controlled devastating medical issues will occur.
